Bassetts Farm Primary School
At Bassetts Farm school, I offer instrumental lessons on Bass, Electric & Acoustic Guitar and Drums. On this page, you will find my timetable for the current half term and information about the lessons that I offer. For more information and reviews, you can check out my Facebook page.
1 to 1 Instrumental Lessons
My 'standard' lesson at Bassetts Farm is a 30 minute, 1 to 1 lesson, that I charge £12.50 for. I invoice for the fee of completed lessons at the end of the half term, and email the invoice directly to parents.
Children are welcome to bring their own instruments (guitars, basses etc) if they want, but we have various high quality instruments available for lessons at the school.
I create various resources for lessons that I upload to this website. I use edmodo (see link below) to keep you updated on your child's progress in lessons, with feedback after each session, videos, and specific resources.
Where possible, I will start children's lessons as soon after an enquiry as possible, however if I have no spaces, I will add their names to my new starters list, and do my best to start lessons at the start of the next half term.
Rock & Pop Band Lessons
From January 2017, alongside my 1 to 1 instrumental lessons, I will be offering Rock & Pop Band Lessons. These will be mixed instrumental groups focusing on developing skills on their instrument by learning to play songs together. For loads of children a 1 to 1 lesson is perfect to focus on songs, and develop their skills, but for a lot of children, working together in a band, and applying and developing what they know about an instrument to songs can be more inspiring and motivating.
To be part of these sessions, I charge £7.50 per child.
Groups will never be bigger than 4 children
Groups will be put together from children of similar abilities (normally, this will mean children in the same years)
In sessions, you must choose the instrument that your child will play, and they won't be allowed to try other instruments during the sessions. These are in essence instrumental lessons, but, children are learning to play instruments by playing songs together
The price is per child, regardless of group size
All equipment will be supplied for lessons (although children are welcome to bring their own guitars/drum sticks etc)
The songs will be Pop & Rock songs, suitable for the instruments in the band. Where possible, I will take suggestions for songs from the children in the band.
